Background:This study was to evaluate clinical efficacy and safety of LMWH comparing with UFH in AMI setting up to 6 months in KAMIR.Method:2,382 AMI pts underwent primary PCI within 12 hrs after symptom onset were enrolled.All pts were randomly assigned to receive either LMWH(60mg IV or SC bid for 5-7 days) or UFH 5,000 U IV bolus, followed by 24,000 U/day infusion for 2days).Bleeding complications and clinical outcomes of in-hospital,1 and 6 months were compared.All MACE included total death,revascularization,and myocardial re-infarction.Result:Two groups did not differ in baseline characteristics and had similar clinical efficacy profiles without significant difference in incidences of cardiac death,total death,revascularization and all MACE during in-hospital,1 month and 6 months f/up period.Furthermore,LMWH and UFH group also had similar in-hospital safety profiles without difference in incidence of bleeding event(Table).Conclusion:LMWH and UHF had similar safety and efficacy profiles with low incidences of MACEs and bleeding events in Korean AMI pts undergoing PCI.
