HOME > GREETINGS  Dear Members, It is my honor to have such a big opportunity to be a president of the Korean Society of Cardiology. The Korean Society of Cardiology has been expanded its study fields and arena internationally from the foundation. The Korean Society of Cardiology consists of more than 1,100 members and 5 district societies and 8 research working groups. Also, The qualified articles of our members are taken and quoted internationally. They enhance our reputation by being invited as a speaker or chairman in international societies. These are the most fruitful results of the continuous efforts of our members. In addition, we held a 50th anniversary event to celebrate our 50th anniversary as well as to look back upon our past 50 year history and to present our brilliant future we should take on. From now, the Korean Society of Cardiology will do our best for our globalization and development by tightening the relationship among associated organizations and societies. Lastly, I will fulfill my obligation by collaborating with our chairman Dr. Young Bae Park. Thank you. October, 2010 President, Korean Society of Cardiology Chong Yun Rhim  Dear Members of the Korean Society of Cardiology, It is great honor for me to serve a director of the Korean Society of Cardiology which is famous for long history and tradition in Korea. The Korean Society of Cardiology established 1957 and we have a 50th big anniversary last year. It also means that we stand on the jumping-off point for upcoming half century. I would like to express sincere acknowledgement for all senior members and honored professors who had made valuable work for the past 50 years. Even if there was difficulties to improve study and research of cardiology in the early times with poor national economic foundation in particular there was huge gap comparing to developed countries, however, we have established cornerstone which consist of members’ endeavor and devotion. Recently, Korean Society of Cardiology plays a central role in shaping the activities of state-of-the-art cardiology in the world. I am sure that the Korean Society of Cardiology will have been as a leader in the field of clinical and basic part of cardiology in the world with members’ endeavor and devotion. From this reason, the society will support scientific activities and provide exchanges which are able to share the information. Also, annual spring congress which had held in auspicious of three societies; Korean Society of Cardiology, Korean Society of Echocardiography and Korean Society of Lipidology Atherosclerosis has been showed that this mutual cooperation will lead societies to reach the success. Although there are limited by current difficult restraints from outside such as health insurance policy, spontaneous sponsoring, we should participate and cooperate among members to overcome this obstacle. The society will try to converge of your opinion and admonition at all times. I would like to ask involvement for all members and bid for the vitality and happiness for all members and families.
